		<description>Horlicks wanted a new positioning to move away from ‘Made for evenings’.

We found out that famous explorers used to drink Horlicks and there’s even a mountain range in Antarctica called Horlick Mountains. We suggested repositioning it as a drink for active outdoorsy people.

		<description>With the rest of the team at Grey London, we created work for two Vodafone Ireland retail campaigns.

For Christmas, they wanted something that celebrated the spread of good will at that time of year.

For summer, they wanted a traditional campaign for their data offer and to shift some phones.

The result isn’t the most creative thing we’ve worked on. But we learned some of retail’s dirty secrets.

		<description>Vodafone Ireland wanted to create a campaign for their new sponsorship of the annual comedy festival at the Iveagh Gardens in Dublin.

With the help of the lovely and talented illustrator Chloe Batchelor, we came up with a cast of characters, a tone of voice, and a look and feel we could use across a variety of comms.

And we even managed to slip in some hidden gags into the artwork.

The Characters

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/1736/2165533/New_final_master_905.jpg" border="0" width="900" height="895" width_o="900" height_o="895" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/1736/2165533/New_final_master_o.jpg" align="left" /&#62;

Print

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/1736/2165533/small_48_905.jpg" border="0" width="900" height="450" width_o="900" height_o="450" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/1736/2165533/small_48_o.jpg" align="left" /&#62;

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/1736/2165533/6sheet_905.jpg" border="0" width="900" height="656" width_o="900" height_o="656" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/1736/2165533/6sheet_o.jpg" align="left" /&#62;

Radio
For the radio ad, a world record was set for most jokes told in 20 seconds, featuring one liner maestro Stewart Francis.

      Vodafone Comedy Festival Radio by nickandjules

App
We worked with Return2sender and oversaw the production of an app for the festival. Features included a map we designed with Chloe, and an AR feature so you could find animated and interactive versions of the characters around the festival.

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/1736/2165533/App7_7_905.jpg" border="0" width="898" height="916" width_o="898" height_o="916" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/1736/2165533/App7_7_o.jpg" align="left" /&#62; &#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/1736/2165533/App8_8_905.jpg" border="0" width="898" height="916" width_o="898" height_o="916" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/1736/2165533/App8_8_o.jpg" align="left" /&#62; &#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/1736/2165533/App9_9_905.jpg" border="0" width="898" height="916" width_o="898" height_o="916" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/1736/2165533/App9_9_o.jpg" align="left" /&#62;

Nick didn’t make it to the festival. But seeing real life versions of the characters he’d created made it feel like Jules was walking around inside Nick’s head.

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/1736/2165533/mime_905.jpg" border="0" width="893" height="492" width_o="893" height_o="492" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/1736/2165533/mime_o.jpg" align="left" /&#62;

Here are some other ideas that didn’t make it to the festival either, but we thought were worth a mention.

Hecklewall
Tweet your heckles during the show for a new way to interact at gigs.

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/1736/2165533/Hecklewall_new_14_905.jpg" border="0" width="893" height="674" width_o="893" height_o="674" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/1736/2165533/Hecklewall_new_14_o.jpg" align="left" /&#62;

Digital Mural
See what you look like as an animated character in the world of the festival artwork.

Step into a booth at the event and get a head shot taken. It then gets added to a characters body and uploaded to the digital mural so it can lark about with the rest of the characters at the festival.

The final animation then pops up in your Facebook feed for you and your friends to find and tag you in the video.
&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/1736/2165533/Digital_Mural_905.jpg" border="0" width="893" height="674" width_o="893" height_o="674" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/1736/2165533/Digital_Mural_o.jpg" align="left" /&#62;

Stunt
To make some noise on the lead up to the event the headlining comics take over the flagship store in Dublin and serve the customers. And they'll finish the day with a gig, performed live on the shop floor.

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/1736/2165533/storetakeover_new_905.jpg" border="0" width="886" height="473" width_o="886" height_o="473" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/1736/2165533/storetakeover_new_o.jpg" align="left" /&#62; </description>

Our answer: The Big One. A six-week party for reluctant adults.

Digital billboard

We thought they should use a washed up pop star to disrupt the X Factor, champion real music and warn people about the dangers of manufactured pop.
